York Helicopter Ride

The Great Yorkshire Heritage Tour

£960.00

Starting from our base aerodrome you will route past affluent Wetherby and Collingham towards Harewood, the first grand Country House en route.

Tracking up the Wharfe Valley you will see Denton Hall close to Otley and Ilkley, both well known Market and Spa Towns, before turning North towards the Bolton Abbey Estate.

Your flight then tracks across the Yorkshire Dales over Pateley Bridge before reaching one of England’s best preserved monasteries; Fountains Abbey.

The Cathedral City of Ripon will offer you views of the Cathedral and Racecourse as your trip progresses from The Harrogate Borough to the District of Hambleton wherein lies Thirsk, home of James Herriot and birthplace of Thomas Lord.

The Helicopter then presents you with a view of Kilburn White Horse that cannot be appreciated from the ground. The Cleveland Way begins at Helmsley, a town which boasts Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Castle.

The Tour then reaches its final stages but finishes on a high. You will overfly Pickering and Malton before entering the grounds of Castle Howard, a private residence belonging to the Howard family for more than 300 years.

Finally, there is nothing like flying over Viking York, the only way to appreciate the history of this City is to view the Castle Walls from above. Constructed in 1338 York Minster is the largest Medieval Cathedral in Europe.
