It’s been a funny year in 2020 and COVID-19 has meant that we are having to constantly adapt how we operate. If you are flying with us here at Yorkshire Helicopters you may have questions or concerns.
We continue to operate and adhere to Department of Transport guidelines and Civil Aviation Authority advice. This means that we operate our helicopters taking into consideration all of the best advice on social distancing, cleanliness and hygiene.
Here are some of the questions we are being asked most often.
We have extended the duration of validity of all of our helicopter flying gifts from 6 months to 12 months. Additionally, should we enter a lockdown period we will extend your voucher by the same period of time. We will monitor this situation and take into consideration any other restrictions the government puts in place as to whether this may have affected your ability to redeem vouchers.
Generally speaking we are not operating any shared flights (i.e. those where you will be flying with other passengers you have never met).
Regarding flying with other passengers you do know but are not part of your family or bubble, this depends upon when you ask. Obviously, restrictions will be raised and lowered as things progress, so we operate in accordance with the most recent restrictions. You can always find the most up to date guidance on the UK Government website here.
In addition to Government guidelines, we clean the helicopter surfaces after each flight. Where possible, we leave the doors open between flights to allow fresh air to circulate and flights are conducted wearing face masks.
We may not be open as usual during lockdown but our phone lines remain open Monday to Friday 0830-1800. We are asking all customers to get in touch before visiting as we may have closed at short notice.
