So you’re planning your wedding day and you’ve both decided that you need some particularly impressive transportation. You consider the very best limousines and supercars and then one of you says, “What about a helicopter for our wedding?”
“How about hiring a helicopter for our wedding? Is this possible?”
Absolutely! You can definitely charter a helicopter for your wedding. It’s one of the most frequent requests we receive thanks to our excellent reputation for helicopter wedding flights and we absolutely love flying into weddings by helicopter. Here’s our essential guide to chartering a helicopter to arrive at your wedding and thrill your guests.
Which Wedding Venues are Suitable for Helicopters?
The most obvious question and one which you don’t need to worry about. Simply tell us which venue you’ve chosen and we can quickly tell you whether it’s possible to arrive there by helicopter. Helicopters are very versatile and can access many places. There are rules, of course, and we do need some space to land. Typically, country house type hotels are very suitable and we have a list of locations we know well that we regularly visit.
Sometimes, the exact location may not be possible, though nearby there is often a more suitable landing area. We work with you to arrange that too.
For other locations, it only takes us a short time to calculate if it’s safe and legal, so we can get right back to you.
We often fly into wedding venues such as Rockliffe Hall, Hardwick Hall, The Three Acres, plus many, many others. All you have to do is ask, we will work out very quickly if it’s possible.
How Much Does It Cost for Helicopter Wedding Transport?
It’s simple. The cost is based around how far we have to travel. Our central Yorkshire HQ makes us well placed to reach locations across Yorkshire and also south into Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and north into County Durham and Northumberland. We simply need to know where you would like to depart from, where you wish to land and, of course when, to be sure we aren’t already booked with our helicopters.
You may even like to depart from our headquarters here at Walton Wood Airfield which is often the most cost-effective option.
How Many People Can You Carry?
We operate Robinson R44 helicopters. They can carry a pilot plus three passengers. This is often perfect for either the couple, groom and best man or bride and father and also means you may wish to take your wedding photographer along to get photos on the day.
It Sounds Amazing, How Do I Book a Helicopter for my Wedding?
Arranging a wedding can involve lots of different elements all coming together which can be stressful and that’s why we handle all the smaller details of flying by helicopter. Once we receive your initial enquiry we will check the landing sites given and come up with any other options at that point along with providing a quotation.
If you want to go ahead we will then speak with your chosen venues on your behalf to explain what we want to do while keeping you informed every step of the way. We take a small deposit on booking, usually 10%. The balance is then due 7 days prior to the date.
We Love the Idea! What Else Can We Do To Make it Even More Amazing?
We are often asked to greet our guests with champagne at the ready. For an additional charge we can even provide our own photographer and videographer if your own is already busy capturing your flight from the ground. This can be simple shots before departure, photographs as you fly capturing the scenery in the background, or even video with cockpit audio which can be sent to you edited or unedited.
