We’re sure that most people choose a wedding venue using rather different criteria to us. The spectacular location, the health spa and heated pool, the grounds, the bridal suite, the food? All are important. For us, however, the deal breaker for a wedding venue is “Can we land a helicopter there?”
We fly over and land at so many of these beautiful venues so often, yet we never tire of the view of these spectacular places from the air. It’s only when you arrive at a beautiful country house by helicopter that you can truly appreciate the scale and drama of them as you circle around to land. It’s a view that you simply cannot describe and one that you will never, ever see arriving by road.
Trust us. It’s worth arriving here by helicopter on your wedding day. It’s a view you will always remember.
If your ambition is to arrive at your wedding by helicopter, then our guide to helicopter weddings will tell you everything you need to know. And if you’re looking for some inspiration, here’s our guide to some of our favourite wedding venues that we often fly to that have excellent facilities for helicopters.
Rockliffe Hall
Rockliffe Hall looks so impressive when viewed from the air that it almost seems a shame to arrive by any other way. The spectacular structure sits surrounded by landscaped grounds and the staff are very experienced at accommodating helicopters regularly.
We often fly into Rockliffe Hall and are always made to feel welcome by the great team there. Here’s a link to their weddings page.
Hardwick Hall
Only a few miles north, you’ll find Hardwick Hall. Another huge venue and great to arrive at by helicopter. Hardwick Hall also specialises in cultural weddings, something that we’re finding seems to suit a helicopter wedding. And we love the colourful style of cultural weddings, you certainly make our helicopters look amazing. Want to know more? Here’s a link to their wedding page.
Devonshire Arms
Not only a lovely wedding venue, the Devonshire Arms is a great place to fly into by helicopter for lunch. Lying in the Bolton Abbey Estate, it’s a beautiful and picturesque part of Yorkshire and easy to access by helicopter for your wedding or simply to enjoy lunch.
Rise Hall
If you live in the Beverley or Humberside or Yorkshire Wolds area, then Rise Hall is a lovely venue. Formerly owned by TV property presenter Sarah Beeny, we always enjoy arriving at Rise Hall by helicopter. The period, listed building looks amazing from the air and we always enjoy the welcome from the Rise Hall staff are we shut down. Their wedding venue page is right here.
Rudding Park
Probably one of the best known country house hotels and wedding venues in the whole of Yorkshire, we have lost count of the number of occasions we have arrive at Rudding Park by helicopter. Rudding Park is situated in more than 300 acres of parkland, so we generally don;t have to worry too much about finding somewhere to land. It’s a lovely place, you can see the Rudding Park wedding information right here
Burntwood Court
For those of you in the South Yorkshire and Barnsley area, Burntwood Court has a huge range of facilities. Ok, so on your wedding day, you may not be thinking of the gym, however your guests may well apreciate it the following morning. It’s a lovely place to arrive by helicopter and you can read their wedding details here.
Kings Croft
Kings Croft is a grade 2 listed building, with a rather special Wedding Pavilion. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that has lots of personality, where you can arrive by helicopter – our most important detail, let’s not forget – then Kings Croft should be on your list. You can see the wedding pavilion on their wedding pages right here.
By now, you’re realising that we have an obvious bias when choosing where we visit, where we call into for lunch and where we enjoy a special welcome. Arriving by helicopter is what we do each day, yet for others it may be a once in a lifetime experience. Or, of course, it could be the beginning of a new way to travel.
Whichever it is for you, while you’re busy planning your wedding day, you owe it to yourself to add ‘helicopter arrival’ to your list.
Have we convinced you? We hope so. Drop us a line with details of your helicopter destination and we will get right to it. And let us know in the comments below if you have a special Yorkshire wedding venue that is helicopter friendly, we can add it to our list.
